First let me say, I hear so many reasons why people don't try yoga.
"I'm not flexible"
"I can't balance"
"It seems intimidating"
"It's just stretching right?"
Well, everything is a challenge the first time but the more we practice the more we learn. Yoga is not for the flexible, the strong, or the well balanced, yoga is for everyone. Yoga surely helps us develop those qualities but it is so much more than that! If you can breath (which if you're reading then you can!) you can do yoga. :)
Yoga is the process in which we peel back the layers that reveal our true selves and allow us to become more connected to the oneness, what better place to do that than out on the water, flowing with the river.

SUP Yoga, or stand up paddle board yoga isn't hard! At least not with Float Ohm SUP. All classes begin with a land lesson to make you feel comfortable. Sure, if you explore headstand, you might fall in, and you might like it! Especially on a hot michigan summer day. BUT, our paddle boards are designed specifically for paddle board yoga.

Just as there are MANY different styles of yoga classes (so if you didn't like Vinyasa try something else) there are many different styles of paddle boards. Stand up paddle boards (SUPs) are water vessels, in other terms, you're on a boat! Not all boats are created equal, and not all SUPs are the same, some are designed for racing, touring, surfing, and our paddle boards are designed for yoga. If you try to downward dog on a narrow long touring board, you might feel a bit wobbly. Our fleet of Glide 02 Lotus's paddle boards were made with yoga in mind. They are large stable boards, with a full deck pad so you can stretch, sprawl, move about, and really get into your practice. The yoga sequence we use incorporates a slow, gentle, fluid movements that challenges you but in a way accessible to all. We've had students ages 7 to 77 on these boards and nobody has fallen in, well maybe they've taken a swim willingly :).

So hey, they say you only live once, so why not give it a try! I promise, it's not as hard as it looks, and it doesn't matter if you've never yoga'd before, give SUP yoga a try and I'm sure you'll leave feeling relaxed and refreshed. So come on, float on, float home, float ohmmmmmmm.
